Frequently asked questions — Hotel Normandy, Cap-d’Ail

Where is Hotel Normandy located?

Hotel Normandy is a small, family-run boutique hotel at 6 Allée des Orangers, 06320 Cap-d’Ail, on the French Riviera — right on the border of Monaco.

How far is Hotel Normandy from Monaco?

The hotel sits on the edge of Monaco. It is about a 5-minute drive, a short bus ride, or just a few minutes by train from Cap-d’Ail station to Monaco-Monte-Carlo.

How far is the beach?

The beautiful hidden beach of Plage Mala is about a 10-minute walk down through the pines, home to the Eden Plage Mala and La Réserve de la Mala beach restaurants.

How far is Nice airport?

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is roughly 20–30 minutes away by car.

Is Hotel Normandy a good base for the Monaco Grand Prix?

Yes. During the Monaco Grand Prix (5–7 June 2026) Monaco’s own hotels sell out at very high rates. Cap-d’Ail is minutes from the circuit by train or car, so Hotel Normandy is a calmer, better-value base for race weekend. Rooms sell out early and have a minimum-stay, so we recommend booking well ahead.

What kind of hotel is Hotel Normandy?

It is an independent, family-run 3-star boutique hotel set in a former villa, with 16 individually styled rooms plus a self-catering apartment, a terrace, and a warm, personal welcome.

Do the rooms have sea views?

Several of our rooms enjoy Mediterranean sea views; others look toward the hillside and gardens. Sea-view rooms are limited, so please mention your preference when booking.

Is there parking?

The hotel does not have its own parking spaces. There is public paid parking in the surrounding area between 9:00 and 12:00 and 2:00 and 18:00 at a cost of 1,50 euro per hour. Parking agents patrol daily, so please park within the marked white lines.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is normally from mid-afternoon and check-out in the morning. To confirm exact times, or to arrange an early check-in or late check-out, just get in touch.

How do I get the best rate?
